Request Account Deletion

In the app (quickest). Open Psi Ops, go to Settings, and tap DELETE ACCOUNT. This deletes your account right away.

No longer have the app installed? Send an email with the details below and we'll delete it for you. A small number of records are kept after deletion — see What Is Retained.

Requests are processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

What Gets Deleted

When your request is processed, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your Firebase authentication account (user ID)
• Your username and profile
• The record of which Terms of Use version you accepted and when
• All gameplay statistics (wins, losses, rating, streaks, scores)
• Your leaderboard entry
• Any device registrations stored under your account (a separate device-level ban record is kept — see What Is Retained)
• Your friendships, in both directions, so you disappear from your friends' lists as well as your own
• Every pending friend request you sent or received
• Your block list
• Your online presence record (online status and last-seen time)
• Any outstanding friend challenges you sent or received

Direct messages work differently. Messages you already sent are not removed from the other person's copy of the conversation. The conversation is closed so that no further messages can be sent in it, and you appear in it as a deleted player rather than by name. The conversation record — both accounts' IDs and the time of the last message — is kept, so the other participant's copy of the thread keeps working. Those messages, including the preview your conversation keeps in the other person's message list, are deleted automatically 90 days after they were sent, like all messages — see the Privacy Policy.

If the account belongs to a child. When we learn an account belongs to a child, our staff can also remove that child's messages from the other participant's copy of every conversation, and their lines from any report snapshot that copied them — beyond what a normal deletion above removes.

What Is Retained

After deletion, the records below are kept, and several of them still contain your account ID:

• Abuse reports you filed, or that named your account — which accounts were involved, the reason chosen and the date — are deleted 2 years after their last activity, unless one is still needed as evidence for a restriction in force right now or is being held for a pending appeal, in which case it stays until that need ends. Messages copied onto a report are deleted on the schedule below, which comes sooner.
• If players you messaged report you after the deletion and those reports reach the threshold for restricting messaging, a messaging-restriction record naming your account ID, the reports and the date is created. One created within 30 days of your deletion is removed again by the next day's cleanup job along with everything else it re-checks; only one created after that 30-day window is kept, with no time limit.
• Any appeal you filed against a messaging restriction — the statement you wrote, the restriction it concerned and the outcome — is deleted 2 years after it was decided. An appeal still waiting for a decision is closed when the account is deleted.
• Entries in our internal staff audit log that refer to your account are deleted 2 years after they were logged.
• A record that your account ID was deleted, and when, kept with no time limit; it stops a match that finishes after the deletion from recreating your statistics or leaderboard entry. It also tracks whether that deletion finished, and if an attempt failed, when that happened and a short, redacted description of the error — nothing about your gameplay, messages, or profile.
• Data from a match or friend challenge that was in progress when the account was deleted — your username and rating inside that match — cleared automatically within about seven hours.
• Aggregated, fully anonymized analytics — for example daily active users, computed from Google's automatically-collected events — that cannot be traced back to you.

If a conversation involving your account is reported, before or after the account is deleted, up to 50 of the most recent messages in that conversation are copied onto the report. Those copies are kept for 90 days after the report, or 90 days after an appeal decision if the reported player appealed, and are then deleted automatically. The report record itself is kept, as listed above.

If a device you have used has a device-level record used to enforce bans, that record is also kept. It belongs to the device rather than to your profile and holds the device's identifier, model, operating system and app version, when it was last seen, whether the device is banned and why, and the last account ID that used it — not your username, statistics, or messages. Deleting it along with the account would turn account deletion into a way to evade a ban. A record for a device that is not currently banned is deleted a year after it was last seen; a banned device's record is kept regardless of age.

If Psi Ops is still open on one of your devices when the account is deleted, some data can still be written back afterward under the deleted account's ID: that device's notification token, your game progress (unlocked difficulties and personal bests), your online status, or a pending ad reward. A daily job re-runs your account's deletion for 30 days afterward and clears any of this that gets written back. Residue written more than 30 days after deletion is not cleaned up.

Request a Copy of Your Data

You can ask for a copy of the data linked to your account. It includes your profile, stats and progress, your friends, friend requests and blocks, your conversations and the messages in them, reports you filed, your appeals, and the record of any staff action about your account.

To protect other people, it leaves out who reported you, who blocked you, and which staff member acted. A report that names you as the reported player leaves out its copied message lines entirely — even your own — since any of them would identify who reported you, and your own messages already come out in full through your conversations above.

Two more things are outside what this copy covers, not to protect anyone: usage and advertising data held by Google Analytics and Google AdMob, and anything stored only on your device.
